A precondition for the use of CFRs is that importers contact the national Algerian ocean carrier prior to any import transaction. CFR can only be used in case the main transport cannot be paid by the importer (and therefore FOB cannot be fulfilled). Then the calculation based on the CFR clause must contain two detailed items of information: The cost of goods and freight (Note: the ABEF letter of 25/12/2019 contained a third piece of information to be provided: the insurance costs. This requirement was revised in the correction letter of 26/12/2019).
